Ken L. Harper, 48, of Sodus, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 at his home, after a brief illness with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home or the family. Those wishing to sign Ken's Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Ken was born October 2, 1963 in Benton Harbor to Kenneth L. & Marietta (Haak) Harper, Sr. He was formerly employed at Cast-Matics in Stevensville and Gast Manufacturing in Bridgman before moving to South Carolina. Ken was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with family and friends around the bonfire and grilling out.

Ken is survived by his mother Marietta DeMorrow of Sodus; his children-Kelly (Brandon) Riddick of Dallas, GA, Gabriella Harper, Kamela & Isabella McKenzie, all of Leesville, SC; his grandson Calvin Carter Riddick; his siblings-Sandy (Lee Capitan) Igert of Benton Harbor, Kathy Briney of Sodus, Rick DeMorrow of Elkhart, IN, Karl (Shelia) DeMorrow of Odessa, TX; numerous nieces & nephews; and friends too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his step-father Thomas DeMorrow in 2009 and his brother Alan Harper in 2005.
