LaVerne Lange, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, May 1, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers, Rd., Stevensville. Friends may call beginning at 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. LaVerne was born December 30, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles & Augusta (Gaedke) Marchinke. On January 31, 1948, she married Elmer H. Lange in Chicago. They moved to Southwest Michigan in 1961. LaVerne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she formerly sang in the choir. She enjoyed fishing with Elmer, tending to her flower garden, and watching birds.

LaVerne is survived by her husband Elmer; two daughters-Gail Lange of St. Joseph, Karen (Richard) Bourcier of Rhinelander, WI; two grandchildren-Michael (Coralie) Bourcier and Tammy (David) Steger; three great-grandchildren-Mackenzie Bourcier, Jack & Minnie Steger; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers & sisters.
