Noreen was a wonderful lady and truly I thought of her as my second mom. Almost as far back as I can remember she was there. Noreen was a wonderful lady and truly I thought of her as my second mom. Almost as far back as I can remember she was there. All during the good times as well as the tough times she was a rock and never let us down.

One of my favorite memories of your mom was when I was in 9th grade and my friends wanted me to go to a varsity football game with them. (I had never been to a varsity game) My dad said I couldn't go because I had to work at the store. Of course (it was friday night-payday for our customers). I had never seen your mom so fired up! I dont remember for sure what she said to him but I will never forget the look on his face when she was talking to him, and I do remember her shaking her finger in his face. That night I went to the first of many Varsity games!

One of the really neat things I remember is how much Noreen loved her family. Especially she loved to talk about her kids. I remember the Little league stories and all of the activities Scott, Rory, Terri, and Shelly were involved in, and I loved to hear about them.

I will never forget Noreen.

When you lose someone you love,
your life becomes strange,
The ground beneath you gets fragile,
Your thoughts make your eyes unsure,
And some dead echo drags your voice down
Where words have no confidence.

Your heart has grown heavy with loss,
And though this loss has wounded others too,
No one knows what has been taken from you
When the silence of absence deepens.

Flickers of guilt kindle regret
For all that was left unsaid or undone.

There are days when you wake up happy,
Again inside the fullness of life,
Until the moment breaks
And you are thrown back
Onto the black tide of loss.

Days when you have your heart back,
You are able to function well
Until the middle of work or an encounter,
Suddenly with no warning
You are ambushed by grief.

It becomes hard to trust yourself.
All you can depend on now is that
Sorrow will remain faithful to itself.
More than you, it knows its way
And will find the right time
To pull and pull the rope of grief

Has reduced to its last drop.

Gradually you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And when the work of grief is done,

I was deeply saddened by the news of the passing of one of my favorite ladies, She was always a warm and caring person. She would make you feel like family and you just knew you were included in the family just as if you were one of her own children. As the plans for her 90th celebration were under way, I made sure to have my calendar clear as you invited me some time ago. There must have been a need for a baseball mom up in heaven to keep score for those Cubs she loved to much. As we meet for her homegoing service, it will keep a smile on my face with all the memories she left to hold onto...

I was sorry to hear that Noreen had passed away. I worked with her when Wolf's was over on Pipestone in Benton Harbor. We were like a big family and she kept us all in line. (I don't think that store could of run without her.) Noreen taught me alot, and I know her family will miss her.

Noreen, Ken, and the kids lived across the street from us on McAlister St. I started babysitting, over the years, Noreen became a friend and a special part of my life.
