Vivian June Watt Kasischke, 85, of Bridgman, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, at Jordan's Life Care Center, Bridgman, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Pastors Kyle & Lindsay Small of the Harbert Community Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She will be buried at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Memorials may be made to the Jameson Gargano Fund at Berrien Community Foundation, Hospice at Home, or the activities department at Jordan's Life Care Center. Friends may send a condolence to the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com
Vivian was born on June 13, 1926 in Hartford, MI to Carl E. & Mabel D. (Kittell) Phillips. She first married Harry "Duke" Watt, who preceded her in death, and later married Edward P. Kasischke on April 18, 1987. Vivian worked at Whirlpool for twenty-one years. June enjoyed golfing, bowling, and especially her family and friends.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Charles) Gargano of Stevensville, step-son, Paul (Marilyn) Watt of St. Joseph, step-daughter, Laura (Bill) Abernethy of Chelsea, MI, grandchildren, Joel Gargano, Jill Elder, Jack Abernethy, Kima Watt, Paul Watt, Jr., Shawn Unruh, Marcee Schplapak, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Raina (Sperbeck) Witkowski of Stevensville, Margie Lange of Berrien Springs, and brother, Richard (Ruth) Phillips of Virginia Beach, VA and sister-in-law, Barbara Phillips of Stevensville.
Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Duke, second husband Ed, a grandson, Jameson Gargano, and brother, Donald Phillips.
